Abstract

Granular parakeratosis is a rare dermatologic condition characterized by erythematous to brownish keratotic papules that coalesce into plaques in axillae. Although few cases have been reported, there have been reports of cases affecting various areas of the body. Lesions may persist for months, resolve spontaneously, and recur. The hypothesis of the disease comes various causes. The diagnosis is based on clinical presentation and histopathology. However, the lesions may be misdiagnosed as other dermatologic conditions, leading to potential underdiagnosis by physicians. In this report, we present a case of a 38–year-old obese Thai woman who presented with brownish rashes on both axillae. The patient reported changing her usual deodorant, prompting hypotheses regarding the etiology of this uncommon conditions.
