Implementation Science: Theories, Models, and Frameworks

Abstract

Evidence-based practice is considered as an essential component of quality improvement in healthcare system.  Multifaceted implementation strategies are needed to promote use of research evidence in clinical setting. Implementation science as a branch of knowledge translation hasemerged across multiple disciplines withthe aim of bringing research findings to practice. This article describes an implementation science, in terms of definitions; theories, models, and frameworks. An example of conceptual framework for implementation and stages of Implementation Process are provides.
