A Study of Elderly Caregiver’s potential after 420 hours of caregiver training for Elderly Health Care Center The Thai Red Cross Society

Abstract
This research is a descriptive research. The objective is a Study of Elderly Caregiver’s potential after 420 hours of caregiver training for Elderly Health Care Center The Thai Red Cross Society. The samples were those who completed the 420 hour caregiver course at Elderly Health Care Center The Thai Red Cross Society, during the 1 May 2017 to 31 January 2020, 50 people willing to participate in the study were collected by using questionnaires. Data were analyzed by frequency distribution, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The result of the research shows that the trainees most are 90% women aged 40-49 years 38% single status 48%, bachelor’s degree education 42%, earning 10,001-15,000 baht, 42%, experience for caregiver more than 1 year 50 % of the trainees care 46% of the elderly in the family. Overview potential is the high level ( = 4.39, S.D.= 0.39) , the knowledge about the elderly is at a high level, 54%, have the highest skills in caring for the elderly, was at a high level ( = 4.47, S.D.= 0.52), followed by good characteristics in caring for the elderly high level ( = 4.45, S.D.= 0.44) regarding motivation in caring for the elderly at a High level ( = 4.40, S.D.= 0.45) and self-concept in caring for the elderly at High level ( = 4.24, S.D.= 0.48) respectively. The information from this study can be used to develop the curriculum to train the elderly to have further quality and standard.
