Health Resource Management Factors Affecting Effectiveness of Public Health Services for Dependent Elderly in the Community of Subdistrict Health Promotion Hospital in Health Region 6

Abstract

            The objective of this research was to examine the factors influencing the effectiveness of healthcare services provided to the dependent elderly in the community. Data was collected through a mailed questionnaire from the representative sample of healthcare service providers who working at the Subdistrict health promotion hospital in health region 6 from August to September 2020. The sample consisted of 252 health providers by using the multi-stage random sampling. Data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including Chi-square analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, and Stepwise multiple regression analysis.
            The research findings revealed that the effectiveness of healthcare services was high level (  = 3.96±0.54). Health resource management factors by the administrative factors (  = 3.64±0.57) and the health resources factors (  = 3.42±0.61) were at the moderate level. Both the administrative factors (r = 0.702, p<0.001) and the health resources factors (0.597, p<0.001) were significantly correlated with the effectiveness of healthcare services. Furthermore, the most influence was the administrative factors as planning dimension was the most effect size at 0.378 and factors as administrative factors (planning, director) and health resources factors as personnel were predicting the effectiveness of healthcare services about 54.10% at the statistically significant level of 0.01. Therefore, our suggestions that the relevant organizations, particularly in Health region 6, should enhance the capabilities of their personnel in systemic planning to support the advancement of healthcare services for the dependent elderly through health network management. This aims to achieve healthcare services that align and support with current and future needs.
