Abstract

This article aims to present women's health problems that caused by unsafe abortion and the law enforcement of illegal abortion. Unsafe abortion is a major public health problem that threatens women’s health. It is a major cause of death in women of reproductive age.  In spite of this preventable cause of death, the victims die because of not having access to safe abortion. Although abortion is prohibited by law for a long time, it cannot reduce abortion rate. The determinants of unsafe abortion are complex ranging from social, economic, legal, political, religious, and personal beliefs. As a result of these factors, unsafe abortion remains the major problem that needs to be resolved immediately and continuously.
