Abstract
Lean management system: concept and practice in public health for community engagement
The lean management system is the demonstrated and accepted concept to improve continually the quality of health care services in the health system. The four principles of this system are the management of performance, asset, resource and risk in the organization. This concept emphasizes the product and service that fulfill the community needs with waste elimination through the process and continuous quality improvement. To apply lean management system for public health, public health personnel should be trained, set up the team to initiate the projects which highlight public health problem improved innovation, long-term quality improvement for lean culture implement in public health organization. Therefore, this challenges the public health personnel to improved work by using a lean concept or lean management system. That is not only the community participation but also the community engagement in the future.
