บทคัดย่อ
Objective: To analyze relation between parenting style and the emotional intelligence of children in the early childhood development center and elementary school under Nakhonpathom Hospital. And identify problems, suggestions and comments on the implementation of the development of emotional intelligence
of children in the early childhood development center and elementary school under Nakhonpathom Hospital.
Study design: Cross-sectional study
Method: The data were collected from 1 December 2013 - 31 January 2014, consisted of parents of 316 children (aged 3-5 years) in the early childhood development center (Red Cross Early Child Development
Center, Wat Huay Gurakhey Early Child Development Center, Suksawat Early Child Development Center, Pathomnakhon Early Child Development Center, Prapanakhon Early Child Development Center and Sakeaw
Early Child Development Center) and elementary school under Nakhonpathom Hospital (Anuban Nakhonpathom School, Wat Prapathomjadee school and Satit Mahawitthayalai Silpakhon School).
Result: The result that the emotional intelligence of early children in the early childhood development center and elementary school under Nakhonpathom Hospital, mostly scale t-score 40-49 points total 188 cases, representing 59.5 percent. Descending order of parenting style are a reasonably conditional firstly (mean = 4.4, S.D. = 0.5) that parent of children in the early childhood development center and elementary school under Nakhonpathom Hospital Democratic Parenting Style (mean = 3.9, S.D. = 0.5). Integrated Parenting
Style (mean = 3.6, S.D. = 0.7) Permissive Parenting Style (mean = 3.2, S.D. = 0.5) and Authoritarian Parenting
Style (mean = 3.0, S.D. = 0.6) is the least way parents use. The Parenting Style was not associated with emotional intelligence of children in the early childhood development center and elementary school under
Nakhonpathom Hospital, statistical significance (p = 0.0028)
Conclusion: The Parenting Style was not associated with emotional intelligence. The result that the emotional intelligence of early children in the early childhood development center and elementary school
under Nakhonpathom Hospital mostly scale t-score 40 - 49 points total 188 cases, representing 59.5 percent.
Parents should be encouraging and developing emotional intelligence on each category constantly.
