บทคัดย่อ

To study status of problems from neurological impairment and self care ability in stroke patients after discharge. Stroke patients who were admitted at Nakhonpathom hospital during September 2009 - February 2010 were followed up and evaluated at 3 months after discharge. There were total 23 patients, 13 male and 10 female, average age was 60 years old. The common complications and problems were shoulder-hand pain at hemiparetic side and spasticity.

Most patients (82%) could feed themselves but needed assisstant for other activities of daily living. Almost patients could not continue their career jobs. In conclusion, stroke patients still had neurological deficit and complications after discharge from the hospital. They needed caregivers to assist in self care activities. To improve the quality of life, comprehensive rehabilitation management and life-time care should be provided.
