บทคัดย่อ

The Objectives of this descriptive research were to evaluate rate of birth weight less than 2,500 gram and to analyze the relation of general appearance, history of pregnancy, economic, social and eating behavior during pregnancy. The studied sampling population were the mother who labored in U-thong hospital, Suphanburi province. A total of 110 samples were all selected. Data were collected via questionnaires between November 1st 2008 to February 28th 2009.

The research findings were as follows : (1) most of nursing mothers were 20-30 years old (70.9%) and rate of birth weight less than 2,500 gram was 9.1%, smoker 7.3%, alcoholic drinker 0.9%, drug addiction 1.8%, ANC 95.9% and average weight gain 13 kg. (2) The statistically significant relatives (at p-value 0.006, 0.006, 0.000, 0.013, 0.0021, 0.000, 0.022, 0.022, 0.007, 0.001, 0.015, 0.004) of the marrital status, alcoholic drinking, ANC, GA at 1st ANC, weight gain, GA of delivery, receiving advice, positive screening blood test for thalassemia, intention to be pregnant, anxiety, troubles in family and eating behavior.

The suggestion : Health providers should to focus at history of pregnancy, behavior and mother’s stress which could help to plan service system that covered physical and mental status.
