ผลการปรับใช้ข้อบ่งชี้การตรวจหาโรคจอประสาทตาผิดปกติในทารกคลอดก่อนกำหนดของสหรัฐอเมริกา ในโรงพยาบาลเจ้าพระยายมราช

บทคัดย่อ

Objective : To study the applicability of American Criteria for the Screening of Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) : 2006 and to determine the appropriate criteria in Chaophrayayomraj Hospital Suphanburi.

Methods : A retrospective study enrolled 476 premature infants at Chaophyayomraj Hospital in 3 years. Incidence and risk factors were determined by logistic analysis. American guidelines were applied and evaluated in terms of incidence of ROP.

Results : The incidence of ROP infants was 8.91% (39/476). The study showed the significant risk factors by univariate analysis were birth weight ≤ 1,500 gm, gestational age ≤ 32 weeks and the oxygen therapy. Application with American criteria showed the incidence of ROP infants was 17.10% (33/193). Only 6 infants (6/283) were not in American criteria but were found ROP. Most of them had birth weight during 1,500-2,000 gm, gestational age ≤ 34 weeks and developed stage 1-2 ROP.

Conclusion : By applying American criteria is appropriate for screening ROP in Chaophrayayomraj Hospital but the criteria should be extend for infant with gestational age 34 weeks and birth weight ≤ 2,000 gm.
