บทคัดย่อ

Patients with femoral neck fractures can be treated by operative or nonoperative treatment. The operative treatment that usually done were hemiarthroplasty. Hemiarthroplasty can be done with or without bone cement. There were many reports about the advantages and disadvantages of the bone cement. This retrospective analytic study want to know the effect of bone cement in the patients with femoral neck fractures in Samutsakorn Hospital from 1 January 2005-31 December 2007 There were 51 cases. With cemented group in 31 cases (3 males, 28 females, average ages 74.9 years old.) and Uncemented group in 20 cases (5 males, 15 females, average ages 68.9 years old) There were no statistical difference in both groups when compares by operative times, intraoperative blood loss and hospital stay. There were no relation between the types of operation and the incidence of intraoperative hypotension. But one cemented patient was died after the operation. This patient had a history of ischemic heart disease. So we can used the bone cement in hemiarthroplasty, but we should have an intensive caution for the patient who had a history of cardiovascular diseases.
