บทคัดย่อ

Objectives: 1) To evaluate the success of the development of cervical cancer screening system with the participation of the Health Network Association at Thayang hospital, Phetchaburi province and 2) compare the performance of the services and the satisfaction of the health team toward the cervical cancer screening service system before and after the development.

Method: From the total sample of 61 personnel, 13 were selected from the family and community practice division and 48 were health volunteers, four from each of 12 communities, who were trained to be responsible for screening cervical cancer. The period of the training was from January to December 2010, and the data were collected in February 2011. The used tools were 1) questionnaire 2) registration records of clients receiving cervical cancer screening between January 2009 to December 2010. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics by using, t-test and chi-square test.

Results: After the development of cervical cancer screening system with the participation by the Health Network Association, the performance and the satisfaction of the health team towards the cervical cancer screening service system were higher than before the development at statistically significant level. Creating participatory system and PDCA quality cycle in the development made a difference in a good way. On the input side, health team helped establishing operating plan together, collaborated with private clinics to jointly provide the services and worked with the department stores in the community in supporting the gifts to clients. On the process side, the system was developed to provide the alternatives in getting the services to the target groups. The service could be performed at private clinics participating in the program, at home or at the family and community health practice office at Thayang hospital. The public relations were also emphasized to reach the target groups by door knocking and motivating the target groups and health team. On the evaluation and result side, the health team made evaluation and followed up every month.
