การเฝ้าระวังการระบาดของไข้สมองอักเสบเจดี ในจังหวัดนครปฐม

บทคัดย่อ

     In year 2007, incidence of Japanese Encephalitis was increased in first half of the year. Five patients were diagnosed by diagnostic definition. One patient (20 percent) was under 4 years old, three patients (60 percent) were 10 to15 years old and the last one patient (20 percent) was over 35 years old. One of them (20 percent) had a history of complete vaccination, the other (80 percent) had no vaccination. Their sign and symptom are convulsion, high fever and cerebral involvement. After treatment, two patients (40 percent) were completely cured, two patients (40 percent) were cured but had some residual neurological morbidity and the last patient was admitted in hospital until now. The risk factor of these patients were as follow . One patientis resident had some small ponds, many mosquitoes and small buffalo farm nearby. Two patients lived near pig farm. Three patients lived near bird farm.

     When there was an incidence of Japanese Encephalitis, the surveillance and rapid response team immediately went to investigate for the etiology and find out the new patient. They also implied the preventive program as; vaccination, environmental control, insecticide spraying and health education for the community.
