การตอบสนองของม่านตาภายหลังการตาย ต่อพิโลคาปีน และอโทรปีน

บทคัดย่อ

     Objectives: The estimation of times of death is very important in Forensic Medicine. Supravital reaction is useful in estimated time of death. Reaction of the iris to pilocarpine and atropine is one of supravital reaction test. This study is designed to measure the reaction of the iris to pilocarpine and atropine in comparison to postmortem interval in reaction and degree of reaction.

     Method : Injection of pilocarpine and atropine to the anterior chamber of eye of 127 cadavers and comparison to postmortem interval in reaction and degree of reaction of iris at Department of Forensic Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital during September 2006 to January 2007. The postmortem interval was classified into 7 groups ; 0.00-4.00 hr., 4.01-8.00 hr., 8.01-12.00 hr., 12.01-16.00 hr., 16.01-20.00 hr., 20.01 -24.00 hr. and more than 24 hr. postmortem intervaI.

     Result : The results demonstrate that in 0.00-4.00 hr. postmortem interval group the iris was reacted at 100% to pilocarpine and atropine. In others groups that higher period of postmortem interval the reaction of the iris to pilocarpine and atropine is decrese related to increase of postmortem time. The higher period of postmortem that the iris has reaction to pilocarpine is 24 hr. and 13 hr. for reaction to atropine. The degree of reaction of iris to pilocarpine and atropine is same in all groups.

     Conclusion : Pilocarpine and atopine is useful for estimated times of death by test to iris. The higher period of postmortem that the iris has reaction to pilocarpine is 24 hr. and 13 hr. for reaction to atropine. The degree of reaction of iris to pilocarpine is useful for estimated times of death in postmortem interval less than 12 hr. The degree of reaction of iris to atropine is not difference in any postmortem interval.
