ผลการใช้ยา Methylprednisolone ในการรักษาผู้ป่วย Infantile ITP

บทคัดย่อ

       A retrospective descriptive study was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of methylprednisolone (500 mg/m2/day) for three to five days in treatment of infantile immune thrombocytopenic purpura. This study reviewed the use of methylprednisolone in three patients (age below 1 year) between 2004-2006 at Ratchaburi hospital. This study found megadose of methylprednisolone can increase number of platelets over 100,000/cumm and no complication from drug. No one of these patients had relapsed after follow up 6 months.

       In conclusion, such treatment was highly effective, inexpensive and safe. It is a treatment of choice in acute ITP for children aged below one year.
