A retrospective study was performed on 335 patients presented with thyroid nodules in ENT Division in Ratchaburi Hospital during January 2006-December 2007. The study were focused in the scope of inadequate specimens and false negative for malignancy, limitations and pitfall in interpretation of FNAC in thyroid nodule.
Physicians should aware of pitfalls and limitation of FNAC. The result of thyroid aspiration cytology is therefore only one factor governing the management decision. (others : imaging and clinical examination)
