บทคัดย่อ

Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome is a potentially lethal complication of neuroleptics. The author reports three cases, occurring in Ratchaburi Hospital in 11 years. The details of clinical features, investigation, differential diagnosis, treatment, complication and outcome are reported. Two cases were cure and one case was dead from the respiratory tract infection. The prevalence of NMS may be reduced by avoiding the use of large dose of neuroleptics over a short peroid in management of acute psychosis and by paying adequate attention to the patient’s hydration and eletrolytes status.
