บทคัดย่อ

The costs of NSAIDS used in Huayploo hospital increased every years before 1995 due to increasing number of the patients who had musculoskeletal defects such as osteoarthritis, stiffness of joints, low back pain and myositis, etc. Most of them had defects of their structures caused by inappropriate posture in everyday life which could be treated and prevented by combination of non-medical treatment such as traditional massage, acupuncture, warm herbal compression and equilibrium static exercises that was called  “HoIistic treatment Program"

After five years of application of this program ; economic impact of this program was evaluated. In this finding ; we found that the cost of NSAIDS used in 1999 was reduced by 56% while the cost of every drugs increased 17% then the proportion between NSAIDS and others was reduced from 8.11%  in the year 1994 to 3.06% in the year 1999. The average amount of NSAIDs tablets prescribed to each  patient was reduced about 56% and the average cost of Nsaids prescribed to each patient was reduced about 56% in 1999.
