บทคัดย่อ

A Clinical study of TB patients at Paktho hospital, Ratchaburi. 170 Pulmonary TB patients were registered during October 1992-September 1997. Most of them were male (68.2%), aged more than 65 years (22.4%) and between 25-34 years (18.2%). 10% of case & had no history of close contact with TB patients. 90% of Chief complaint were typical TB sign and symptom. 72.9% of sputum examination of new patients was positive. Abnormality on chest radiographs were demonstrated as pulmonary infiltration 80.8%, as hilar node enlargement 6.8%, pleural effuison 3.7%, pulmonary infiltration with pleural effusion 3.1%, pulmonary infiltration with atelectasis 3.1% and miliary 2.5%. 8 cases were treated with short course regimen I-2HRZ/4HR ; cure rate was 62.5%, the treatment completion rate was 37.5%, no one defaulter treatment, failure treatment or relapsed on treatment. 162 cases were treated with short course regimen II-2HRZE/4HR ; cure rate was 62.3%, the treatment completion rate was 8.6%, the defaulter rate was 23.5%, failure treatment rate was 2.5% transfer out rate was 3.1%, come back to follow-up after treatment rate was 2.5%, relapsed rate were 1.9%.
