บทคัดย่อ

The hospital records of 154 patients sustaining mandibular fractures between October 1995-September 1997 were reviewed. The patients population consisted of 79% males, with precipitating events usually being motor vehicles accidents (78%). The most common fractures involved the body (30%), followed by the angle (21%) and the condyles (19%). Internal fixation by ORIF-Wiring and arch-bar was the preferred method of treatment (84%). The complication rate was relatively low (10%). This review suggests that motor vehicle accidents are still the most common etiology of mandibular fractures.
