บทคัดย่อ

An 8 years old Thai boy suffered from the long mass along his back and both shoulders for 3 years. The diagnosis was fibrodysplasis ossificans progressiva (myositis ossificans progessiva). Thai disease is characterized by progressive calcification and the ossification of the fasciae, aponeurosis, ligaments, tendons and connective tissue of skeletal muscles. So far, no specific treatment for this disease. Surgical excision to remove calcified mass will aggravate the disease and more extensive ossification will reform. This report may be useful to remind of the diagnosis and treatment of fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva.
