อุบัติการณ์การติดเชื้อเอดส์ในหญิงตั้งครรภ์ที่มารับบริการฝากครรภ์ ณ โรงพยาบาลสมเด็จพระพุทธเลิศหล้า

บทคัดย่อ

From November 1995 to October 1996, pregnant women with anti HIV positive who attended the antenatal care clinic at Somdetphraphutthalertla hospital were collected. This study was aimed to determine the proportion of HIV infection and factors associated with this infection. There were 39 cases from 2,118 pregnant women (1.84%). The highest infection was in 20 to 25 age group (64.10%).

The incidence of primigavida and low educated were 46.15% and 76.92 % respectively. The majority of the HIV infected cases were employees (64.11%) and housewives (25.64%).

Result from this study indicated baseline data for planning to provide good and careful couselling to the HIV infected pregnant women. Early diagnosis will aid in the implementation of antiviral therapy to reduce the risk of maternal-infant HIV transmission.
