บทคัดย่อ

Identification of recurrent laryngeal nerve during subtotal thyroidectomy in the Northern part of Thailand for 60 cases, 120 nerves since May 1990 to May 1993 revealed that recurrent laryngeal nerve located in Tracheo-esophageal groove 70%, lateral to trachea 30%, posterior to inferior thyroid artery for 58.30%, anterior to artery for 35% and between branches of artery for 6.7%. No nonrecurrent inferior laryngeal nerve or extralaryngeal branch. Inferior thyroid artery still be the clue to identify recurrent laryngeal nerve even though it’s course is uncertain.
