การระบาดของโรคคอตีบในจังหวัดสมุทรสาคร ปี พ.ศ. 2542

บทคัดย่อ

          Diphtheria is an infectious disease that often occur and it is important cause of death in childhood. Nowaday it was found rarely because of the effectiveness of expanded programme on immunization in diphtheria vaccine. Samutsakhon province had no outbreak of diphtheria for 9 years. ln 1998 the outbreak was occurred in 2 cases of diphtheria, 1 is death and 2 contact case. Samutsakhon Provincial office personnel and Samutsakhon social medicine doctor were processing in Moo 7, Ta-Sai Subdistrict, Amphur Muang, by investigation, survey by throat swab culture the contact case, heath education, public relation, vaccinated diphtheria vaccine in unvaccinated person, and giving antibiotic drugs in contact case to control the disease.

          Furthermore the doctor suggested the process to rectify the problem by community survey, health education, public communication, and vaccination in high risk community.

          The disease was control timely, and rapidly it calm down and no more case was found.
