บทคัดย่อ

          This study in Samchuk hospital about the epidemiology of traffic accident that occurred on Oct 1, 1996 to Sept 30, 1997. For 803 patients, male and female ratio were 2.35 : 1. Most were young (15-24 years old, 34%), be the employee (46.32%) Period of time of frequent accident was 4.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m., 99% of the victim reaching the hospital were alive, while 1% was dead. Motorcycle were the vehicle of accident for 87.17%. As for types of accident 43.71% were crashing, 31.38% were overturning events. 60.77% of the accident were the disobey of the traffic laws, 71.98% of the patients were the drivers. Most of the injury were facial injury (49.44%), mostly abrasions wound (78.21%). Bone fractures were 9.09%. 72.73% treated as out-patient, Average 196 bahts per case for the medical treatment expension. This study represented the beginning of proper information to the hospital as how to recognize and measure the way to prevent accident plan and the first step that can ultimately lend to a safer way for people in health service.
