บาดทะยักในทารกแรกเกิด

บทคัดย่อ

A case report of 5 day old Thai girl was admitted because of lock jaw, opisthotonos and could not suck one day prior admission. Her mother had no history of antenatal care and was delivered by a traditional birth attendant. Umbilical cord was cut by uncleaned razor and dressed Stump with medical powder. Infected umbilical stump was found. Tetanus neonatorum and pneumonia were diagnosed. She was treated with tetanus antitoxin, antibiotic, curare, partial parenteral nutrition and respiratory care. She was treated in hospital for 40 days and recovered satisfactory. At 2 months old, she had normal development.
