บทคัดย่อ

A 3 years retrospective study of perinatal death in Makarak Hospital during May 1988-April 1991 revealed 6,745 total births. There were 55 stillbirths and 44 early neonatal deaths. Perinatal mortality rate was 14.68 per 1,000 total births. There is 42.31 percent of perinatal death that cannot be identified the cause of death and 29.48 percent of perinatal death was birth asphyxia. The other causes of perinatal death are preterm, congenital anormaly and infection. To reduce perinatal mortality rate, pregnant women should be educated about self care during pregnancy. Proper antenatal care must be established. Pregnant women should be admitted when they have complications. Labour ward and neonatal unit must be improved.
