บทคัดย่อ

Eight hundred and ninety six ovarian tumor patients who had undergone pelvic surgery with known pathological result at Rajavithi hospital during January 1985 to December 1989 were studied. Six hundred and ninety three (77.34 percent) were diagnosed as having benign tumor and 203 patients (22.66 percent) having malignant tumor. The most common ovarian tumor was epithelial tumor (50.54 percent). The most common type of ovarian tumor was teratoma. The most common ovarian malignant tumor was mucinous type. The average largest diameter of ovarian tumor was 10.05 ± 5.26 cm. Malignant tumor was apparently larger than benign tumor on average. The average age of the patients with malignant ovarian tumor was more than those with benign ovarian tumor. The common present symptoms were feeling of mass in the abdominal cavity (34.26 percent).
