การติดเชื้อไวรัสตับอักเสบบีและการให้วัคซีนในเด็กอายุ 10-15 ปี ของจังหวัดราชบุรี

บทคัดย่อ

All of healthy children aged 10-15 year old at Ratchaburi province whose parents requested for hepatitis B vaccinations from July 1990 to December 1991 were studied for hepatitis B virus marker and also the cost for 3 vaccination. Six hundred and seventy three children, 392 males and 281 females, were included in this study. The prevalence of positive HBsAg and positive antiHBsAg were 4.16 and 9.96 percent respectively. Then the cost for preimmunization screening and vaccination were calculated. Having vaccination without preimmunization screening was cheaper and would be much cheaper when the price of hepatitis B vaccine is lower. So it is individual judgement whether this group of children would have preimmunization screening or not. In the future hepatitis B vaccine may be given to the children without preimunization screening as same as other vaccines if the price of hepatitis B vaccine is lower.
