บทคัดย่อ

          The retrospective study of 45 cases of ectopic pregnancy from 10,955 live births performed at Banpong Hospital in the past five years (1988-1992). The incidence of ectopic pregnancy is 1:234. The mode of the patient age is between 25-34 years. The three most common symptoms are abdominal pain, feeling a necessity to evacuate the bowel and amenorrhea found 100%, 96.5% and 62.2% consequently. The three most common signs are adnexal tenderness, abdominal tenderness and cervical tenderness on bimanual examination. The percentage are 95.6, 84.4 and 73.3 consequently. Shock stage when patients first seen was found 17.8 %. The co-relation factors found with ectopic pregnancy are history of pelvic inflammatory disease 33.3%, history of abortion 20%, post tubal resection 4.4%, during intrauterine devices 2.2% and during pills 2.2%. The 39,200 ml. of blood replacement were used in 38 patients (84.4%). The early diagnosis was done before tubal rupture by the highly sensitive urine pregnancy test and ultrasonographic study.
