บทคัดย่อ

Ratchaburi Hospital is the first hospital in region 7 which was allocated the budget disbursement for purchasing 20.5 millon baths CT scanner. The hospital started service from 1st October 1992 and in this fiscal year of 1993 (1st October to 30th September 1993) the hospital has given service to 1,662 pateints which is the hospitals pateints 92.4% region 7 hospitals 5.5% and other private hospitals 2.1%. The parts examinations are categorized as brain, chest, spine, upper abdomen, lower abdomen and whole abdomen that vary in percentage, respectively as, 81.4, 6.1, 3.6, 6.9, 1.3 and 0.7. The income from the examination is divided in 4 types for which are the full-payment types 70.2%, nonfull-payment types for 4.3%, charity fund for poverty of the hospitals foundation for 4.2% and the rest of 21.3% is bad-debt for poverty, compared to the actual collected income of 4,226,000 baths while the cost is 4,979,988 baths. That means, in this fiscal year, the hospital made a loss of 753,088 baths. The cost of CT scanner which mostly is fixed cost calculated as 93% and variable cost is 7%. The average cost per pateint is 2,996 baths that mostly is for brain scan and if it is for abdomen scan, it costs more because of using contrast media necessities and more films. Both graphical and mathematical analysis shows that the breakeven point will be about 1,970 cases per year, therefore if the pateint number is more than 1,970 cases per year, the hospital will be able to decrease loss. The efficient patient tranportation of region 7 is one way to solve the problem.
