ผลการผ่าตัดต้อกระจกให้ผู้ป่วยในโรงพยาบาลพระจอมเกล้า จังหวัดเพชรบุรี

บทคัดย่อ

          Objectives: To study the outcomes of cataract surgery at Phrachomklao Hospital.

          Materials and method: This was prospective observational study. Data of patients who underwent cataract surgery with intraocular lens at Phrachomklao Hospital from January 1, 2011 to June 30, 2011 were collected.

          Results: There were 381 patients enrolled in the study. There were 145 males and 236 females with the average age of 69.11 years (ranged 50-95 years). Of the 381 eyes phacoemulsification was performed on 351 eyes and extracapsular cataract extraction was performed on 30 eyes. The patients had uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) from light perception to 20/30 before surgery. At 4-week-postoperation, 377 patients (98.9%) had improve of visual acuity (unchange 0.8% and decrease 0.3%). 77.2% had UCVA better than 20/40 and 97.9% had UCVA better than 20/70. A small risk of surgical complications was found. Posterior lens capsule rupture found 2.6% and corneal edema 1.3%. We had not found serious complications.

          Conclusion: The results of cataract surgery at Phrachomklao Hospital were satisfied with acceptable complications.
