ผู้ป่วยโรคงูสวัด: การจัดการดูแลโดยใช้หลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์

โรคงูสวัดพบได้บ่อยขึ้นตามอายุ ภาวะแทรกซ้อนที่พบ ได้แก่ อาการปวดตามแนวเส้นประสาทหลังการติดเชื้อ (postherpetic neuralgia) การติดเชื้อแบคทีเรียแทรกซ้อน ตาอักเสบ โรคงูสวัดจึงไม่เพียงเป็นโรคที่สร้างความเจ็บปวดทรมานให้แก่ผู้ป่วยเท่านั้น โรคงูสวัดยังสามารถติดต่อไปสู่ผู้อื่นได้ พยาบาลมีบทบาทสำคัญในการดูแลผู้ป่วยโรคงูสวัด ดังนั้นจึงจำเป็นต้องมีความรู้ความเข้าใจสามารถให้การดูแลผู้ป่วยให้ปลอดภัยจากโรคและภาวะแทรกซ้อนที่อันตรายได้โดยปฏิบัติตามหลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์
