ภาวะโภชนาการของผู้ต้องขังสูงอายุ

การศึกษาเชิงบรรยายนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาภาวะโภชนาการของผู้ต้องขังสูงอายุ และเปรียบเทียบภาวะโภชนาการของผู้ต้องขังสูงอายุ จำแนกตามอายุ เพศ โรคประจำตัว และระยะเวลาต้องขังภายในเรือนจำ กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นผู้ต้องขังที่มีอายุตั้งแต่ 60 ปีขึ้นไป ที่ต้องโทษในเรือนจำกลาง เรือนจำจังหวัด และเรือนจำอำเภอ ในกลุ่มที่ 1 จำนวน 100 ราย เก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสัมภาษณ์ข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล และแบบประเมินภาวะโภชนาการ Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA) ระหว่างเดือนมกราคม ถึง กุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ. 2563 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติบรรยาย และสถิติไคสแควร์
ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ผู้ต้องขังสูงอายุมีอายุระหว่าง 60 - 76 ปี โดยมีอายุเฉลี่ย 64.84 ปี (SD - 4.23) เป็นผู้ต้องขังสูงอายุเพศชาย ร้อยละ 61 มีโรคประจำตัว ร้อยละ 40 โดยเป็นโรคความดันโลหิตสูง ร้อยละ 33 ดัชนีมวลกายเฉลี่ย (BMI) 21.06 กิโลกรัม/เมตร2 BMI ที่น้อยกว่าเกณฑ์ (<19 กิโลกรัม/เมตร2) ร้อยละ 10 ผู้ต้องขังสูงอายุเสี่ยงต่อภาวะขาดสารอาหาร ร้อยละ 35 ขาดสารอาหาร ร้อยละ 2 และภาวะโภชนาการของผู้ต้องขังสูงอายุ มีความแตกต่างกันเมื่อมีอายุ เพศ โรคประจำตัวและระยะเวลาต้องขังภายในเรือนจำที่ต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05
การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีข้อเสนอแนะสำหรับทีมสุขภาพในการคัดกรอง และประเมินภาวะโภชนาการ ในผู้ต้องขังสูงอายุ เพื่อวางแผนการดูแลผู้ต้องขังสูงอายุให้มีภาวะโภชนาการที่เหมาะสม ป้องกันภาวะทุพโภชนาการและภาวะแทรกซ้อนจากปัญหาด้านโภชนาการ
