A Development of Public Health Database System Model In Chiang Rai Province

Abstract

The purposes of this research and development study were to develop a model for Chiang Rai public health database system, which has 2 main functions. First, an establishment of the District Health Data Center: DHDC. The center is accountable for the accuracy and completeness of data before sending to the Provincial Health Data Center. This data center will develop a database which can be employed to oversee and access the operation of district and sub district center. Second, an analysis instruction set of data processing and performance report. The analysis instruction will be used to access completeness and accuracy of data record in health care setting. After the development, the accuracy of data mining and recording was increased 7.07%. The completeness of data mining and data transferring from health care setting to the district centers was 100%.The completeness of data transferring 31 folders were increased 12.82%. Folder transferring 26 -30 folders were increased 71.80%. Additionally folder transferring 21-25 folders were increased 6.41%. Furthermore, we did not find that health data centers send data less than 15 folders. The timeline of data mining and data transferring was increased 0.43%.The satisfaction of developing model lead to high level among of administrators, provincial data management committees and responsible persons. The means score of satisfaction was statistically significantly increased (P<0.05). In conclusion, developing model of public health database system was continuous on monitoring, accountability, accuracy, completeness of data and sharing data information between internal and external health-sectors. Recommendation, they should be to formulate policy, supporting and strengthening for public health database center on district level that was useful of monitoring and evaluating of public health organizations.
