The treatment outcome of Glycemic Control in Type 2 Diabetes in Lamphun hospital

The purpose of this study is determine the pattern and outcome of oral hypoglycemic agent usage in 55 -type 2 diabetics (T2 DM ) who attended the diabetes clinic in Lamphun Hospital during January 2007 to July 2007. The majority of T2 DM were primary level educated. (67.3%) The most interval age was 40- 59 year. (58%)The average weight was 60.44 Kilogram. About 45.5% were overweight. The overwrist were 54.5 %. 98.2% were Smoking. 50.9% had hypertention and 36.4 % had dyslipidemia. The oral hypoglycemic drugs were use in monotherapy, The usage of glibencamide , glipizide and metformin were 67, 24,9 % in sequencely. T2 DM with hypertention would deceived antihypertensive drug .Only 21.8 % of T2 DM achieved HbA1C less than 6.5% but the percentage of risk characteristic factors such as overweight, over-BMI. were not decrease. Although the objective of Diabetic treatment was to control blood glucose level but the hypoglycemic agent usage was not only the single method. But non-Pharmaceutical interventions such as risk behavioral change were the crucial measures to promote the diabetes care, as well.
