Screening of HIV counseling and testing for HIV voluntary by routine offer at OPD Mae Taeng Hospital Chiang Mai

Abstract

          The purposes of this research were aimed to describe and Randomized control trial study for Screening HIV/Aids finding case by offer service voluntary counseling and testing at OPD Mae Taeng Hospital, objectives for HIV voluntary by routine offer, basic new service. Risks factors and HIV/Aids case and followed CD4 for standard efficiency system treatment Antiretroviral drugs. This study from OPD case aged 15-60 years service during on I August -30 November 2008.The data were collected by simple random sampling selected from OPD case last number 0 by using questionnaire and interview and analyzed by Descriptive Statistics, namely frequency, percentage, phi and chi-square test

           The results were as follows. A number OPD case and give for interview by questionnaire 1,625 persons volunteer counseling and testing 435 persons were 26.76%.The results were HIV positive 34 persons, 7.82%. The offer service counseling and testing were chi-square test p =0.010 at p = 0.05 assumed were developed to new format for routine offer service, the correlation off risks factors with HIV/Aids case assumed were drug used, blood transmission, STI test, the results were risk factor to HIV positive, the followed CD4 monitoring HIV/Aids case 34 persons assumed were treatment by Antiretroviral drugs and Opportunity infection by standard, refer to HIV clinic and follows after finding case by treatment Antiretroviral drugs 1 month 16 persons, 2 months 5 person, 3 months 3 persons, 4 months 4 persons, 6 months 4 persons, 8 months I person, 34 persons refer to HIV clinic for treatment Antiretroviral drugs 33 persons and I person to died.
