This is retrospective study conducted in Phayao hospital during 1 October 2008 to 30 APRIL 2010. Data were collected from all people who registered for hypertension clinic. Only patients who had creatinine results and blood pressure record, 6433 cases were enrolled. We estimated GFR for all participants with the Modification of Diet in Renal Disease equation, using calibrated serum creatinine. Patient with estimated GFRs <60 mL/min per 1.73 m2 were defined as chronic kidney disease. A good level of BP control was defined as having figures lower than 130/80 mmHg. Results: of all patients 43.4% had a diminished GFR. Of these, 33.2% bad a good level of control of BP, 35.9% had a good level of control of systolic BP, 56.2% had a good level of control of systolic BP. Conclusion: A considerable prevalence of chronic kidney disease was found in hypertensive patient. Only 1 in 3 of these have their BP under control.
