General anesthesia can cause hypothermia and even more serious complication in patient undergoing surgery, The technology for preventing this problem was very expensive. In this study, we invented our new warming blanket by using polyester covered with double layer of thin blankets. The study was set to compare the old one. The study was conducted in 54 patient scheduled for abdominal surgery, age between 20-80yrs. Patients were allocated randomly into control group (n=28) received the old blanket, and study group (n=26) received our new adaptive warming blanket. The room and patient temperature were monitor throughout the study period and immediately afterwards in the recover room. There was no statistically significant differences in the baseline characteristics between two groups. In the study group, hypothermia was less and the body temperature was decreased with slower rate compare to study group. Room temperature and duration of surgery were important factor for hypothermia cause.
