Health Status and Health Promoting Behaviors Among Health Persons of Chomthong Hospital, Chiang Mai Province

Abstract

              Objective: The purpose of this descriptive study was to exam health status and health promoting behaviors among health persons at Chomthong Hospital, Chiang Mai Province during June, 2006. Materials and methods: The subjects were 290 persons. Data collected by laboratory exam and physical exam, including the personal data and health status. The study instrument wear, a Thai Mental Health Indicators (TMHI-66) and a health promoting behavior questionnaire. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics. Result: The result: of this study showed that 66.00% of normal BMI, 94.20% of normal blood pressure, 98.79% of normal blood sugar and 88.89% of normal blood cholesterol. Mental health of subjects had the level of the mental health at the same level as general people 79.09%. The overall of health promoting behaviors were at a high level (X=116.04). Conclusion: This finding from this study can used as baseline data for health and administrators to promote activities program to maintain and increase of health promotion behavior, in order to enhancing their state of well-being
