Problems of Sexual Abuse in Sansai District, Chiang Mai Province

There were many reports of sexual abuse daily involving different methods and ages of victims leading to different psychological and physical problems to the victims, such as pregnancy. This retrospective descriptive study was done in Sansai hospital Chiang Mai Province from March 1,2004 to February 1,2007 .The aims of this study was to find out the problems in sexual abuse cases using a holistic approach. There was a total 32 cases, with 29 females and 3 males .The least age was 3 years old and the oldest age was 38 years old space. Abuser were stepfather, grandfather, boyfriend, internet friend and neighbor 16 cases (50.0%) had torn hymen, vagina or labia abrasion,14 cases(43.8%) had no lesion and 2 cases rejected vaginal for sperm test and acid phosphatase test. Only 9cases (28.1%) were positive for the acid phosphatase test. Hopefully, the results of this retrospective study will motivate the community to be aware and cooperate to decrease the problem of sexual abuse in the future.
