Cupping Therapeutic Method

Abstract

             Cupping is a therapeutic method in Traditional Chinese Medicine that is especially useful in the treatment of problems of local qi or blood stagnation in the channels. This article presents the history of cupping and its therapeutic effect, cupping technique in details, indication, contraindication, side effect and also presents the clinical use of cupping in 30 patients who come with muscle pain. After treatment 23 patients had pain relieved, 23 patients had muscle stiffness decreased, 16 patients who had numbness were improved, 20 patients can reduce the analgesic drugs and 28 patients had better sleeping. The side effect of cupping such as skin marking (non permanent) and bruises. Cupping is an alternative method that can be used combine with modern medicine to treat muscle pain.
