Investigation of food-poisoning Tambon Bolaung amphur Hod Chiangmai 2003

Abstract

           The purpose of this study to investigation food-poisoning in Tam bon Boluang Amphur Hod Chiangmai in 2003. All patients had 286 case, male 56.99%, female 43.01%, age group 25-44 years 42.80%, the least of age 4 years and the highest of age 80 years. Incubation period the most of rapid 10 hours, the most of delay 40 hours. Average 24-28 hours the frequency Of time group 23-28 hours was 44.40%. Signs and symptom in this study was diarrhea (watery) 80.70%, abdominal pain, headache, fever, nausea, chest pain and vomiting, 72.51%, 64.33%, 45.63%, 29.24% 15.20% and 14.63% respectively. The causation of food-poisoning in this study, all patients had raw meat of buffalo whose uncooked with appropriate heat. The product of raw meat buffalo was loo , sa and lab , all them were the best of northern food in Thailand. The relative risk was 46.67, 28.11 and 11.65 respectively. The pathogen was bacterial, Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp. And protozoa Sarcocystis spp .. The result laboratory of veterinary diagnostic faculty of veterinary medicine Chiangmai university found Salmonella spp. and Sarcocystis spp. in raw meat of buffalo, and Chiangmai medical science center found E. coli, only Salmonella spp. found in rectal swab from patients in laboratory of Hod hospital. Surveillance rapid and response teams (SRRT) should be preventive and alert foodpoisoning, causation of consumer behavior for had uncooked food raw meat animal. Behavioral could not change, hygiene and environment health was undevelopment. Project or activity for behavioral change in community depend on times and supporting budget should be promote for preventive food-poisoning.
