Formulating of compounding preparation; conjugated estrogen vaginal cream from the tablet dosage form

Abstract

          Objective : To formulate the compounding preparation, conjugated estrogen vaginal cream that is stable under optimum storage conditions. And to assess the satisfaction of obstetrician-gynecologist on the effectiveness of formula in order to hormone replacement for obstetric gynecological diseases.

          Method : It was a research and development of conjugated estrogen vaginal cream formulation from tablets. It was studied in an-ionic and non-ionic cream base and studied physical and biological stability in 3 storage conditions; 2-8, not more than 25 and more than 25 degrees celsius. And the satisfaction of the obstetrician-gynecologist on the effectiveness of the formula was assessed by the satisfaction assessment form.

          Result : Conjugated estrogen vaginal cream that formulated from tablets and non-ionic cream base provided 90 days of physical and biological stability in all storage conditions. Mahasarakham Hospital obstetrician-gynecologist’s satisfaction was found that, the overall doctor’s satisfaction were 100% in very satisfied. 83.33% were very satisfied in postmenopausal atrophic vaginitis, imperforate hymen and fusion of labia-labial adhesion.

          Conclusion : Conjugated estrogen vaginal cream that formulated from tablets and non-ionic cream base provided 90 days of physical and biological stability. And obstetricians-gynecologist were satisfied on the effectiveness of hormone replacement therapy.
