Root canal treatment of traumatic upper maxillary central incisor: A case report

          A 21 years-old male, employee experienced motorcycle accident, central incisor was fracture which involved soft tissue all both side. He was treated by antibiotic, tetanus toxoid and analgesic (NSAIDs) emergently and then refers to consult dentist for proper management. After taking oral examination and Radiographic examination shown fracture exposed soft tissue of the teeth which caused severe toothache. Radiograph provided useful information about progression of diseases, number and shape of root canal. Root canal treatment procedures began with the administering of local anesthetic and then isolated teeth by applying Rubber dam to control moisture and clear view for operator. Next, negotiate the root canal to measure its length determined by K-file 21m.m. and also taken the radiograph to confirm. After root canal were prepared by Crown down and Step back technique while irrigating with 2.5% and 5.25% sodium hypochlorite. The final procedure in first day was medicating root canal with calcium hydroxide and observed for signs and symptoms. After that main gutta-percha was selected for each canal and canal were filled using vertical and lateral condensations. A final radiograph was taken to confirm the completed of root filling.
