The development of oral health promotion model in child development center of Phonphang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Rattanawapee District, Nongkhai Province

Abstract

          The purpose of this action research was to study the oral health care system development in children by the parents in the community. This study applied the Appreciation-Influence-Control (AIC) to configure participants of 30 samples, who were parents, village health volunteers, community leaders, and public health officers. The research instruments were questionnaires about the knowledge of oral health care, parents satisfaction towards the operation, oral hygiene survey, observation and group discussion guideline. The results were analyzed using percentages, means, standard deviations and paired sample t-test. For qualitative data they were analyzed using content analysis.

         The research found that the oral health care system required the participation from partnership networks in the performance of the community, which enhanced the effectiveness and sustainability of oral health care. In addition, the quantitative results were found that participants had a more satisfactory towards knowledge oral health care. The key success factors of the development were: 1) participation in the community, 2) partnership networks in the community, and 3) continuity of activities. These factors caused the suitable system development with this community context.
