Readiness in becoming dental public health officers of dental public health program graduates, academic year 2560 Sirindhorn College of Public Health KhonKaen Province

Abstract

               This cross-sectional descriptive study aimed to explore the readiness in becoming dental public health officers of graduates of Bachelor of Public Health (Dental Public Health).The samples were 49 graduates of undergraduates students of Bachelor degree of Dental Public Health.

                The results revealed that female graduated 85.7 %.  The age of the sample was between 21 to 23 years old (mean= 22.04, SD=0.61). In relation to the perception in the dental work role, the highest  perceptions was fluoride application with the average score 4.40 (SD =0.7), and followed by sealant application with the average score 4.38 (SD =0.725).  In the aspect of the readiness in the dental work role, the highest perception was oral clean-up for patients with gingivitis with the average score  4.28 (SD =0.607), followed by  plaque  controlling 4.24 (SD = 0.657)
              In perception of caring for elderly patients, the highest perception was the perception of oral cleansing  tools for the elderly with the average score 4.14 (SD =0.729), and followed by the guidance of using artificial teeth for the elderly with the average score 4.02 (SD =0.714).
