The six building blocks of oral health service plan, Lomsak,Phetchabun Province in 2017-2018

Abstract

          This study aimed to (1) increase access to oral health services and reduce waiting times. (2) reduce dental caries in children 3 years and 12 years  (3) increase the potential of specialized dentistry (4) improve the material and budget support systemThe research used the six building  blocks system: service  delivery ,health  workforce, health information system, assess  to   essential  medicines ,financial assess  to   essential  medicines , leadership and  government to manage Lomsak  District oral health system. Data were collected by hospital  OS and financial programs. Statistics used for data analysis were descriptive statistics The study indicated that the rate of access to oral health services has increased by sub-district health promotion hospitals:  the two components of quality oral health were likely to improve and meet the criteria in 2018 accounted for 63.64 percent.  The percentage of removable prosthesis users and root canal treatment   waiting for more than 6 months was likely to decrease.  The percentage of children aged 3 years without tooth decay in 2560 and 2561 was 60.19 and 68.03 percent, respectively whereas in the age group 12 years without tooth decay, accounted for 59.54 percent and 63.43 percent, respectively.

          Increasing the potential of specialized dentistry services at the secondary and tertiary levels led to the increase in referrals to dentists and orthodontists from neighboring hospitals. In relation to dental materials and budget support for the project in 2017 and 2018 the incidence of delay in supporting dental supplies to Sub-district Health Promotion Hospitals was significantly lower than that of the previous year.
