Administrative Factors and Key Success Factor Affecting the Quality of Working Life of Dental Personnel at Community Hospitals in Nakhon Ratchasima Province

Abstract

     This cross-sectional descriptive research aimed to study administrative factors and key success factors affecting the quality of working life of dental health personnel at community hospitals in Nakhon Ratchasima province, Thailand. The population was 113 dental health personnel who worked at community hospitals in Nakhon Ratchasima province. Data were collected by the questionnaire for the quantitative data and in-depth interview guidelines for the qualitative data gathering from 13 key informants. The questionnaire was examined and was verified by three experts for content validity using items objective congruence (IOC) with more than 0.50 for all items. The reliability of the questionnaire represented by Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.98. Data were collected between 12^th December 2022 to 12^th January 2023. Data analyses were performed by descriptive and inferential statistics at a significant level of 0.05.

     The results showed that the levels of administrative factors, key success factors, and the quality of working life of dental health personnel were at a high level with averages of 3.76 (S.D.=0.57) 3.72 (S.D.=0.55) and 3.70 (S.D.= 0.53), respectively. Overall administrative factors and key success factors had significant strong relationships with the quality of working life of dental health personnel (r=0.791, p-value<0.001 and r=0.863, p-value<0.001 respectively). Three variables consisted of two variables of key success factors; development of health care facility image and supporting plans at all levels and one variable of administrative factors; time affected and could jointly predict the quality of working life of dental health personnel at community hospitals in Nakhon Ratchasima province at 81.2 percent (R2=0.812, p-value<0.001).
