Administration Factors and Key Success Factors Affecting the Standard Control Performance of Dental Health Personnel at Sub-District Health Promoting Hospitals in Health Region 8

This cross-sectional descriptive research aimed to study administration factors and key success factors affecting the standard infection control performance of dental health personnel at subdistrict health promoting hospitals, Health Region 8, Thailand. The samples were 141 dental health personnels and were randomly selected by stratified random sampling technique from 386 populations who worked in Health Region 8. Data were collected by a questionnaire for the quantitative data and in-depth interview guidelines for the qualitative data gathering from 12 key informants. For content validity with items objective congruence (IOC), all items were more than 0.50. The reliability of the questionnaire with Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.98. Data were collected between 17th December 2022 to 30th January 2023. Data analyses were performed by descriptive and inferential statistics at a significant level of 0.05.
The results revealed that the levels of administration factors, key success factors and the standard infection control performance of dental health personnel were at high degree with averages 4.01 (S.D.=0.46) 4.07 (S.D.=0.31) and 4.35 (S.D.=0.20), respectively. Overall administration factors and key success factors had significant moderate relationships with the standard infection control performance of dental health personnel (r=0.513, p-value<0.001 and r=0.523, p-value<0.001, respectively. The results found that two variables consisted of one variables of administrative factors; budget and key success factors; understanding and encouraging cooperation affected and jointly predicted the standard infection control performance of dental health personnel at subdistrict health promoting hospitals, Health Region 8 at 35.6 percent (R2=0.356, p-value <0.001).
